Renowned Performer Pat Finn, Known For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.

Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in popular television series like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at 60 years old.

The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in Los Angeles, California recently following cancer treatment since 2022, per reports.

"He never met a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his family stated in a statement.

They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".

An Extensive TV Career

His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.

He also had a regular part on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.

He played the part of Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, portraying a host famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.

During the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of popular shows, such as:

  • King of Queens
  • "Friends"
  • "That '70s Show"
  • "House"

His most famous role for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons over nearly a decade.

His film credits include "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".

Off-Screen Life

Outside of his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.

He was involved with a six-member improv team called Beer Shark Mice.

"Pat taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils over the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted on social media.

The actor is survived by his wife Donna, his children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
