The co-creator of Call of Duty, who helped create the wildly popular video game Call of Duty, has tragically died in a car accident in California aged 55.

His passing was announced by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, a game studio that he helped create.

The celebrated game designer died after his vehicle was involved in a crash and burst into flames on a freeway in the Los Angeles area on this past Sunday, as reported by.

"This represents a devastating loss, and our deepest sympathies go to his family and friends, his loved ones, and all those touched by his creative vision," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts said.
